Dos and Don’ts in Men’s Fashion

Men’s fashion tips—the dos and don’ts. When you aren’t really thinking about it, one little mistake can take what would be a nice looking outfit and put it down in the toilet. Instead, follow these few tips and you’ll be able to keep your outfit looking neat, clean, and just plain awesome.

Make sure to take the time to look over your outfit before you finally get the chance to put it on. First of all, pull the pants up. If you are a full grown man—and even if you aren’t, there is nothing “cool” or gangster about having your pants around your knees. Let’s face it—the closest thing that it looks like is a baby that has a full diaper. In other words—it just doesn’t look right.

Of all the men’s fashion tips that you can follow, follow this one: pants up. Second of all, you need to make sure that you have clean clothes. The sniff test doesn’t work unless you wore the shirt for like two hours and you didn’t sweat any in that time—and even then, you might want to rethink that. One of the biggest men’s fashion tips don’ts is wearing a shirt or pants or underwear that’s dirty.

Third, do a little research. See what’s popular. This isn’t saying that you absolutely have to wear every single name brand—but you can take those ideas and make them your own. Originality goes a lot further than just wearing something that looks fashionable. One of the most little known men’s fashion tips is that women LOVE a guy who dresses originally, but neatly.

Formal Footwear for Men

Formal footwear has never been a hot topic in men’s fashion. When we mean formal footwear these are shoes that are made black or brown leather with thick soles. Actually, formal footwear has a wide variety when it comes to the types of shoes. It can mean loafers, to boots to brogues. As we all know, formal footwear as its name implies, is bets worn with a formal suit. Whatever your style is, remember that proportion is an important factor win wearing formal footwear. Buying them is not complicated at all. You need to know the reason why you must buy them. Is it because of the weather? If it is because of the weather, buy loafers for they are in vogue all year round. Is it because of its convenience? Or maybe because it is easy to clean.

Because of the material, formal footwear is much easier to clean than other types of shoes. You also need to consider the pants you are wearing it with. If you are going to wear it with skinny pants, then better wear slim cuts as well, like lace –ups with a pointy toe style. A skinny tailored pants and a pair of clunky shoes are not a match made in heaven. Chunky heavy soled shoes are better paired with standard trousers. If you want to wear brogues, it is best paired with dark denim. Loafers are best paired with white chinos and khaki pants. Chelsea boots are matched with slim cut jeans, rocker style with a gray tee under a leather jacket.

Socks for Men

Black Socks. Gray socks. Navy blue socks. You may some color socks too. Socks are so underrated yet the most used of a man’s wardrobe. Many think that when they have the above colors, they are just good to go. This is not so. Many men think socks exist so they can be protected during the cooler months. Some men out there just have more fun than most men.

Why? They wear more exciting socks than most of us. These men think of socks not just as something that men need to live by but also as accessories. Like scarves, they put a splash of color to a man’s wardrobe. These men make the socks fall under accessories. They think socks this way so it is easier to have more fun, actually. Go out of your comfort zone of blacks, grays and navy blues. Build some color by having socks in solid colors, those bold colors that shout attention. Colorful socks can be made the focal point of your otherwise boring get up. But socks need not clash with the colors in your wardrobe. Just be aware of the colors you already have in your wardrobe. For example, bright yellows go well with a gray suit.

You can look funny if you don't choose the right combination!

Neutral colors plus a splash of color. To create a more monochromatic look with colors, stick to the same color family. Let say, with a red jacket you can have fun with pink socks. Another fun way to have colors would be having it in prints. It may sound strange but to be fun in this color you need to be quirky. But not to go overboard, stick to socks which have at least one neutral color to it. The other colors are complementing and do not necessarily clash with each other.
