So you’re wondering about a few of the men’s fashion trends that you have seen lately (or rather, something that doesn’t look quite right, but they all do…). Maybe they were something that you aren’t used to or perhaps you’re just wondering why they do what they do. Well, in most cases, it’s quite simple. Men wear what they want. However, when trends start to arise, they flock to the trends because they seem manly. Here are a few unusual men’s fashion trends and their origins.
Sagging pants. This has to be one of the biggest annoyances/fashion trends—and it’s fairly humorous where this trend comes from. Many younger men wear it because it makes them feel macho—because a lot of former prison inmates were wearing these trends. Unfortunately, the trend wasn’t an attempt to make themselves macho—but available to other male inmates. In short, never wear this style in prison.
Socks with sandals. Let’s face it—this is kind of obvious. You fuss at him to wear socks with his tennis shoes, in an attempt to please you and any other woman in his life—starting with mom—he’s going to wear socks with all of his shoes to save time.
Next, we have the issue of matching. Many men have the bad habit of not matching very well—and we as women don’t understand it. What we don’t realize is that we are adapted to be able to tell the difference between several colors—it’s part of the hunter-gatherer mindset/evolution. If a certain berry was poisonous, but a slightly different color than its safe cousin, you’d need to be able to tell. Men just had to run after it and pray it didn’t bit back—thus why when it comes to men’s fashion trends, they fail when matching colors.
